Spirit: Mezcal
Flavors: Ginger, Passion Fruit, Lime

With the increasing visibility and popularity of mezcal, this is the perfect cocktail for amateurs and veterans alike. This is the troublemaking stepsister of the classic Moscow Mule: smoky, tart, and bitter notes blend harmoniously with the traditional mule flavors of spicy ginger and lime.

Spirit: Vodka
Flavors: Ginger, Lime

The roots of the Moscow Mule can be traced back to 1940s New York, when Jack Morgan and John Martin introduced vodka to ginger beer and citrus. Martin crisscrossed the country selling Smirnoff vodka and popularizing the mule by having bartenders pose with copper mugs, and the tradition of the copper mule cup lasts to this day.

Spirit Recommendations

Mezcal Mule
Sombra Mezcal Artesanal Joven - Smooth and smoky with notes of spice, Sombra is especially nice in specialty cocktails. There is such a nice balance between the passion fruit puree and smokiness of this mezcal.

Las Tonas Joven (either Jaguar or Coyote) is another great option.

Moscow Mule
Smirnoff - Boasting a dry finish and remarkable smoothness, Smirnoff is perfect for enjoying Moscow Mules. It’s an easy and cost-effective choice for creating tempting cocktails at your next get-together.
